Plywood panels are the creation of the wood industry with the combination of many layers of wood veneer arranged perpendicular to each other. These layers of boards will be glued together with glue, usually Formaldehyde or Phenol glue. After that, it is pressed with a hydraulic machine to ensure that the layers of boards stick together.

Characteristics of plywood that stability, brightness, stiffness, traction resistance, stability against physical state warping, shrinking and twisting

What is the plywood production process?
The plywood production process usually has 3 main stages, which are:

Stage 1: Harvesting wood
Selection of suitable trees (broadleaf or coniferous)

Using a cutter, take the wood, remove the branches and leaves, and then transport it to the processing plant

Stage 2: Wood treatment
The wooden body after being brought back will be soaked in water for a certain period of time. This makes the machine easy to peel and easy to cut to many sizes.

Stage 3: Plywood production
Step 1: Peel and cut the wood into pieces according to the required size

– Step 2: The piece of wood is put into the leaf cutter to form a thin wooden board

– Step 3: Thin wood panels are put on the line to cut to the required size and classification.

– Step 4: Thin wood panels are put into the dryer to reach the specified moisture content

– Step 5: Use scanning technology to check for defects on wood panels and fix them.

– Step 6: Clean and evenly cover both sides of the adhesive board, stack the boards on top of each other according to the required thickness.

– Step 7: Put the board into the cold press to flatten and make sure the glue is evenly distributed.

– Step 8: Bring the board to hot pressing for the specified time so that the thin wood panels are tightly bonded together.

– Step 9: After hot pressing, the plywood is cooled and put into the trimming and sanding machine to remove the edge, smooth the surface.

– Step 10: Check the quality of the finished product. What is plywood?

After completing 3 stages, plywood will be packed according to regulations and stored in warehouse or distributed to necessary places.

What is the plywood production standard?
– After being dried, the laminate is preserved for at least 24 hours and keep the moisture content of 6-8%.

– Choose the right glue. Commonly used glues are protein glue, Urea-formaldehyde glue and Phenol-formaldehyde glue

– Pressure conditions must be up to standard

– The plywood process is strict and in the right order

Popular Plywood Size
Previously, plywood was commonly produced with dimensions of 1200 x 2440 mm. However, later, plywood has more diverse sizes to suit many uses, from the design of interior products to the construction of large, medium and small architectural works.
