– The output is quite stable and the processing time is fast, so it is suitable for mass production of the same products, helping to save costs and reduce product costs.
– The surface can be much wider than natural wood, so it is convenient for the design and production of large-sized products without having to join.
MDF (Medium density fiberboard) – also known as medium density fiberboard – is an industrial wood product whose main component is wood fiber (or wood pulp) processed from soft woods and hardwoods. , adhesives and some other ingredients (Paraffin, hardener…) are pressed under high temperature and pressure.
History of formation & development
MDF plywood has a not too long history of development. The first MDF factory was built in 1964 in New York (USA) and has thrived in other North American and European countries since 1990 continuously until now. Up to 1970, there were only 3 factories in the world in the US with capacity from 39,000m3/year to 133,000m3/year. However, by 2000, there were a total of 291 factories worldwide and the largest factory capacity reached 340,000 m3/year. To meet the requirements of the market, industrial countries have accelerated the construction of MDF factories with an average annual increase in output of 15.5%. In 1996, the world produced 17.53 million m3, in 2001 the total production of MDF board worldwide reached 29,056 million m3.
Advantages of MDF wood
– No warping, shrinking and termites like natural wood.
– In general, the price of MDF boards is lower than plywood or natural wood.
– Because MDF board has a very uniform structure, when cutting, the cutting edge is not chipped.
– The surface of MDF board is flat and smooth, so it can easily be painted or laminated with other decorative surfaces such as Melamine or Laminate.
– The output is quite stable and the processing time is fast, so it is suitable for mass production of the same products, helping to save costs and reduce product costs.
– The surface can be much wider than natural wood, so it is convenient for the design and production of large-sized products without having to join.
